Jessica, the cow

was wooed by a horny moose

(just a bit obtuse)

Jessica was not impressed

and the moose left, quite depressed

A very funny depiction which contains an element of truth! In nature animals (and humans) can sometimes get their biological wires crossed, especially when the pheromones are raised and in extreme abundance!

Thanks for letting me know your thoughts, Tom. Yes, you're right. We often don't think with our minds (I'll avoid the other term that first came to mind) when we are seeking that special one. Hope that moose hooked up with the right one soon - one could connect with. He must have been getting pretty desperate. Though maybe he was just looking for something different.

Now you've gotten me ROTFL and it's only 3:42 PM. This affair really stirred up that farm community in Vermont - the moose hung around for quite some time and the farmer made a lot of money. There was even a book published with marvelous pictures of the couple. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your delightful comment.

I'm glad this poem (and the moose) gave you a lift, Jacob. That poor moose - I've always hoped he found his true love soon. He just wasn't fishing in the right spot. But the farmer who owned Jessica made a lot of money out of it. The moose stuck around for quite a while and became a real tourist attraction. My parents visited once to see the pair. A real hoot!

Thanks, Rita. That poor moose did not have Jessica from "Hello!" That's for sure. He eventually figured it out and wandered away but not for quite a while. Caused quite a stir in that little VT town - my parents went to see them.
