Tanka is really my forte, but I feel many on this poetry site really don't think much of them. They just like the funny ones which really aren't tanka at all. I appreciate your thoughts and wish you happy writing tonight and a good night's sleep.

Poetry, my absolute favorite, beautiful rendition, too bad that black bar is going right through your lovely work..

Love the form, one I haven't quite mastered. You do it beautifully and the softness of this is so appealing Joyce.
Beautifully penned, as are all your brief poems(as well as the others of course!)

Hi Joyce. A beautiful write and presentation on the subject of poetry that is short, concise and succinct. A skillfully crafted Tanka. Perfect syllabic form of 31 syllables or less. Good imagery, flow and tone. Lovely depth of feeling. I can relate. I love short form poetry, and you express that love beautifully in this piece. Good word choice. Well penned and a most enjoyable read. Write on!
