he pounds nails

he pounds nails

A Poem by Joyce S. Greene
"

a poem about the softness of a working man's heart

"

he pounds nails

and pours concrete all day

then comes home

to touch me with calloused hands

and the softness of his smile

The softness of his smile says it all, it comes straight from his caring heart. Exquisite pen..Tony**

Reminds me of my father... hard working, loving, kindhearted - you have said so much in this short piece!

the two sides of man....especially the kind of man thought of as rough, blue collar, non=sensitive....what a surprise when he gets home.

nicely done.

A tough guy with a soft heart. It reminds me of my father. Thanks so very much for this.

I like the contrast of tactile feelings here....calloused vs. a soft smile. Everyone is multi faceted....you have expressed that so well. Again, easy to see why this was a published poem. Lydi**
