Drivin'

Drivin'

A Poem by J. F. Charleston

Drivin' always seemed to work
When I'm up or down
Goin' left or right
And when I come to a fork
In this road called life

Gasin up that ol' pickup
Throwin it in drive
Hittin' that black top
Just goin on a drive

The daytime is full of good time
Happy, loud music, our voices
Not worried about life choices
Just truckin' the climb

Drivin' always seemed to work
When I'm up or down
Goin' left or right
And when I come to a fork
In this road called life

Midnight drives is the one
That lets me think on life
Let go of things I've done
And question everything

Just drivin' with the road
Keeps my sanity in hold
Just drivin', drivin'

Drivin

This is sooo true. I love to just get in my pickup and drive up north. The highway divides the mountains in some spots...can really just get lost. Can think or not, can pick a direction or keep straight. Just depends. Nice piece J. :)

I like the midnight rides too.
"Midnight drives is the one
That lets me think on life
Let go of things I've done
And question everything"
The above lines. I do often. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

So true and well said about driving. It is fun, a skill and a challenge to stay safe. It gives us freedom of mobility for it takes us where we want and travel the good roads and dirt roads. You are kicking this in high gear with this wonderful, slang poem....:)........
