Let It GoA Poem by J. F. CharlestonTonight was a tough choice A choice of happiness And responsibility How do I keep this Thing called positivity I had to choose between Runnin' in the herd Or keeping up with the world I'm just a caged bird I had to let it go I had to give it up Give up the friends Give up the herd It shattered me to pieces Took a midnight drive Trying to let it sink in To pick up these pieces To hold up my chin An inner fight dwelled inside I didn't want to tell them But was something I had to do I went back and forth Until it was time to surrender I had to let it go I had to give it up Give up the friends Give up the herd It shattered me to pieces Took a midnight drive Trying to let it sink in To pick up these pieces To hold up my chin I hope to go back Be back in the herd Run beside Thunder Oh man I just wonder When this caged bird Will be free once again. © 2016 J.
