Bar ScheduleA Poem by J. F. CharlestonTime ticks down the clock to the next whistle blow when I can leave this field of stock and begin my regular job I've got a bar schedule I gotta get goin', showin' Runnin' faster than the bull just to start my bar schedule Monday night it's all on the table place a bet, throw them cards smack the table, buy another round Tuesday, teachin' folks to sway maybe a few line dances and of course a bit o two steppin' maybe even work on some stances What about my day job, day job? It's only a hay job, hay job I've got a bar schedule I gotta get goin', showin' Runnin' faster than the bull just to start my bar schedule Wednesday and Thursday, Thursday it's all about them drinkin games to drown down some old flames straight whiskey the whole way Friday are them live shows, live shows rockin and rollin anyway it goes off the stage, on the floor with a girl I'm headed out the door What about my day job, day job? It's only a hay job, hay job I swear if you don't shut up, Bob Saturday, fun play, fun day swingin on the ol hard wood Get some numbers if I could only to lead them astray Sunday is the day for the Lord tell some folks an old fable with a guitar hooked to a cable makin them bored as hell I've got a bar schedule I gotta get goin', showin' Runnin' faster than the bull just to start my bar schedule Bar schedule Bob, we need to take this outside? It's about them laws we abide. Oh, dear Lord...
