Let's Go Out Tonight

Let's Go Out Tonight

A Poem by J. F. Charleston

Let's Go Out Tonight

Hey it's been a while
Since I called you up
In the dead of day
To tell you I still miss you

I can't shake the feelin'
Of what we had goin'
And I'm tired of third wheelin'

Let's go out tonight
On the town, maybe the bar
Then under the stars and
Hope we don't take it too far

I know you're feeling alone
And I know you want to
Pick up the phone
C'mon girl throw me a bone

Let me take your hand
Let me hold you tight
Let us just be friends
Let it just be for tonight

That cold apartment
You've been hidin' in
Ain't worth another night
Oh girl it's a horrible sight

C'mon let's go out tonight
To the drive-in movie
Catch the double feature
Never thinking of the future

Let me take your hand
Let me hold you tight
Let us just be friends
Let it just be for tonight

I know you're feeling alone
And I know you want to
Pick up the phone
C'mon girl throw me a bone

Let me take your hand
Let me hold you tight
Let us just be friends
Let it just be for tonight

Let me take your hand
Let me hold you tight
Let us just be friends
Let's go out tonight

Baby lets go out tonight
