Summer TimeA Poem by J. F. Charleston
Summer Time
Pulled out early with the boat On my way down to the lake With some buddies of mine We're goin' to fish on the float Watchin the sunrise above the water Sparkling in the morning A fresh breeze swept across us I thought to myself this simple thing This is the best time of my life A beautiful thing in front of me I ask how could this be Oh great, great summer time Two years later I met my love Her golden hair sparkles in the sun Flowing down her bright white dress I can't help but think This is the best time of my life A beautiful thing in front of me I ask how could this be Oh great, great summer time There's this little boy now He calls me daddy and I call him son He tells me he wants to ride the cow Like the one I ride for 8 seconds I smile and think to myself This is the best time of my life A beautiful thing in front of me I ask how could this be Oh great, great summer time This is the best time of my life A beautiful thing in front of me I ask how could this be Oh great, great summer time © 2015 J.
