Season of Broken Hearts

Season of Broken Hearts

A Poem by J. F. Charleston

There can't be any reason
 Why I feel this way
I guess it's the season

The air is cold
The wind blows
 And the leaves fall
And empty arms that long to hold

In the season of broken hearts
Where relationships are terminated
A time when people become hated
And where they part

Should these times be wasted
Well it wouldn't hurt If you tasted what I tasted
You would think so too

She left on the 2nd of November
The day was cold and wet
My heart ached so bad it broke in two
And it was a day I never want to remember

It took me to other parts
Across Texas, where I
Couldn't run from her memory
I thought my life was over as I stared in its eye
Back in the season of broken hearts

Don't say I'll get over it
That she ain't worth it
I already know that
But my heart doesn't

You'll never understand
Until you've been through
The season of broken hearts

I understand the season of Broken Hearts. Hard to escape memories. Even distance can't keep the pain to rebirth. I like the story in the poem. Lost love leave us wishing to know peace and calm again. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

There's only one word that I can say: wow. You really had my heart throughout the poem, and I must say, it was beautiful. So many of us have been in that place that you describe. You're not alone, buddy! Anyway, you did an excellent job. I love it!

Many of us have been there, and suffered. Time does heal, but it can take a long time, and you never really forget. Pain is part of the process of life, unfortunately, but there are high points too. A poignant write. Thanks for sharing. ~ Robert.

Good structure, and writing of this subject matter. Emotional pain always seems to be a motivator to express ourselves. You have done well here.
