The Rose Isn't EnoughA Poem by J. F. Charleston
Look at the rose
Its look and shape So perfect But is it really? Smell this rose Not sweet nor pleasant How long will it fool The picking peasant? This rose is worthless A beautiful body But a decayed core The rose of a love Is pleasing to the sences But this rose isn't enough The rose isn't enough It can be pretty But its core has to match Take this rose Smell it for a second Watch the thorns And gaze upon the beauty Its not perfect Its not as pretty But its core Makes the difference © 2013 J.
