I'm Tired of Waitin'

I'm Tired of Waitin'

A Poem by J. F. Charleston
"

I'm so tired of it...

"
I feel my heart break again
Over the girl from back when
I waited forever for her
And I just kept getting my heart broke

There ain't any reason to wait
I just keep hurting myself

I'm tired of waitin'
For someone who just hurts
I need a girl who is right for me
She's probably out in the world
Just surviving until I roll around
Until she's found

All my life
I fall for the wrong one
Even though I thought it'd be different
It's all the same every time

The ones in this city
They ain't right for me
In a town somewhere
There will be someone
Who can capture me

I'm tired of waitin'
For someone who just hurts
I need a girl who is right for me
She's probably out in the world
Just surviving until I roll around
Until she's found

Oh, Lord
I need to ask you
Is there any woman out there
That I can love
and she will love in return?
Lord, put her in my arms
'Cause I'm hurtin' now

She can't be that far
From where I want to be
She has to be out in a field
In the middle of nowhere

Give me a set of keys
To a truck and let me run
Let me run away from here
And let me be where
my heart needs to be

I'm tired of waitin'
There ain't no denying
I can't stand it any longer

Lord, I'm tired of waiting
Please do forgive me
But I can't go on like this
I need a sign, I need some help
Lord, I'm tired of waitin'

Seems that life is full of time spent waiting for something. Anything... but just be careful that you aren't so stuck on the waiting part that you miss what just walked by. Sometimes...some things...are worth the long torturous wait my friend. ;) This was an easily relatable piece from many different perspectives. A small word of advice... say HI ;)

This poem have really touched a nerve with me as I constantly feel the same way (except I'm a girl looking for a guy!). The repetition creates a great flow and rhythm, almost like a great acoustic country song. Very well written and constructed!
