Texas is Home

Texas is Home

A Poem by J. F. Charleston

This vast land called Texas
is my refuge, place of pure joy
Texas is what I call home

The Alamo, down in San Antonio
is where I fight my battles
the Rio Grand, & the Gulf of Mexico
is where I fish, for a wish

(Chorus 1)
Texas, sweet Texas
my home I call
you're one of a kind
peace in you I find

The girl, of my dreams
resides there waiting for me
she's hotter than the Texas sun
& she's like the bluebonnets, that bloom free

(Chorus 2)
My home, Texas
never will it change
I will live here, until I die

Texas, I will forever love you
your rivers, farms, & towns
are my home, yes it's true

(Chorus 1)
Texas, sweet Texas
my home I call
you're one of a kind
peace in you I find

My home forever is you, Texas

A beautiful song for Texas. I spend six years at Fort Hood. Best days of my life. Good music and people. I spend five New Years in Austin. I miss the days I roamed down highway 35. Thank you for the excellent song.
