My Greatest Years...

My Greatest Years...

A Poem by J. F. Charleston

I look back
On my years
And remember the best

I thought 3rd grade year
Was the best
It was fun
And full of conquest

5th & 6th grade
Oh, man
They were great
As I learned a trade

7th grade year
Was a total blast
I met a girl
& we thought it
Went by fast

8th grade... ahhhh...
Such the most pleasing
Great joy & laughter
The greatest year yet

Freshman... well
It's hell
No such passion
It sucks & I long
For 8th grade
When it was made

I miss them greatly
And I can't physically
Relive them, but I
Will always remember
Every September
At the start of school...

... I long for
The greatest years
Of my life...

Reading this piece of yours...I wish to have a ReDo of some parts of my schooling. Take advantage of some parts of myself..while I still looked like that...lol Others just be more open and try to fit better. Though fitting in when it matters now is still alright by my standards..lol But sometimes that one time I think of at the dance when I should've said yes and didn't...grrrr ... still grabs me in the chest at times... I can see you writing in a journal for your children someday..."This is what happened when I..." or "If you take a tip from this incident...then write this one down..." ;) I laughed and giggled when I read your poem. I did...(just the memories of how correct you feel through this whole piece...ups and downs spot on) J Sir, you are too much :)
