Abyss...

Show me the light
in this epic darkness
where a growing fright
overwhelms my raw being

Never shall
my place be among so
never a friend so bestowed
increase of only foes

Abyss
the pit of despair
the place where everything
is so unfair

Life is never the same
never again warm and touchy
all of what's left
is salvaged by those with a lost name

Abyss...
never to escape
never to abandon
always around you

Shouts are never heard
the sounds of people
scratching around
never noticed
and never found

A trickle of water
never to be drunk
a beam of light
never to be seen

Freedom is forgotten
pride altered
trust misplaced
never will it return
from this
lonely abyss...
