Never Ending Vacation...

Never Ending Vacation...

A Poem by J. F. Charleston

Roaring engines
On wings of metal
Make me deaf
To heartbreak

A new place for me
But not for the world
Is where I'm headed
Right on the sea

I'll be strum'n
That old guitar
Sipping beer
Dance'n all night long

A new place
Where I've never been
But so many have
Is where you'll find me

Surf boards and bikinis
Boats and jet skis
A never ending vacation
Is what I need

I'm gonna get there
In a few hours

Her betrayal
Going through my mind
All I've got to do
Is go find my kind

I look over to the guy
Who is sitting next to me
"I ask him why he's go'n"
And he says
"Try'n to get over her"

He's just my kind
Lonely and broken hearted
Together we're fly'n
To the never ending vacation

I like being in the clouds. I volunteers for every mission with the helicopters in my time in the military. I enjoyed the story in the poem. Would be cool to be able to have a permanent vacation to escape memory and life. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.

I like the concept, I just feel in places too wordy. Shorten up some of the phrases.
