More Like Home (Tornado Alley)

More Like Home (Tornado Alley)

A Poem by J. F. Charleston

Up in the
Tornado Valley
it feels
more like a home

I've got more
family than friends
natural feeling brewing
deep in my core

All the little towns
are where I want to be
they're calling my name

Life down in Houston
is on its last leg
Tornado Valley
is starting to beg
for me to come

Special people
in both places
is making the decision
real tough

Tornado Valley
seems more like home
Houston feels foreign
and uncomfortable
yet there's still
something there
worth staying for

Houston or Tornado Valley?

I lived the Tornado Valley once. Sort of a odd place to live. With nature anger always near. Sometime the wide open places feel safe to be in. Too many folks in Houston. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
