National DriverA Poem by J. F. Charleston
He drives...
... a long way... ... alone... He thinks of his past a year for every mile a good memory for every town a bad memory for every city a sad memory for every state Many pass him by not knowing who he is not caring who he was Never speaking to a soul he just nods and goes about his business all thoughts are never about today just about his history Every song he listens to takes him home takes him to his beloved who is waiting for him All he's got to do is just get from point a to point b She prays all night praying that he gets home safe He drives and drives all night and day just making his way back into her arms. © 2013 J.
