A Sonnet on Making Christ Look Good

A Sonnet on Making Christ Look Good

A Poem by John Carver

WORKS AND FAITH TOGETHER

To do good things and visit those without
To bring them things they cannot get on their own
To visit those in prison and feel their doubt
And the multitude of good things the Light has shown
That is good religion good deeds when done for the poor
The downcast and heavily burdened souls of the church
But it is worthless unless done with faith you'll have more
And never be left to your own or in a lurch
For faith alone does nothing to make it work
While doing those things in faith the Lord will see
ls like being a servant that doesn't pilfer or shirk
And being honest and  working hard as if free
So show me your faith without works and then compare
It with my works that are done with faith in there!
