Poem on Salvation

Poem on Salvation

A Poem by John Carver

SAVED ONCE IS FOREVER

You see what God can do is anything
But Paul was ignorant of one great truth
That saved you are always saved from that you bring
It is on Christ and not on you from youth

If they turn you over to Satan you to die
You'll still be in heaven even with them and Paul
We lied for we were at war and that is why
He never could have borne that much at all

But now knowing it all he stands assured
That we agreed that even Christian laws
Were wrong and sometimes but rarely they're absurd
Believing in Jesus is what counts not the war's flaws

In time of war if one turns back he's killed
But we all turned back one time or the other one
And ask Christ to forgive us as he has always willed
We're taken out and saved from the rest we've done

For what's important to Chris is salvation be real
Not subject to anyone but Christ's own will
No matter what we think or do or feel
It's up to Christ and you'll see them living still

In heaven with the rest of us where all's well
That's why to man we have that odor; death's smell.
