Cycles of SamenessA Poem by JE FalconA day in the life of many.A few hours Into the day's renewing A light goes on And the coffee's brewing The alarm goes off It's all Siri's doing. The day of the robot Is now.
The TV and lights They all come on And you dress for your day Just before dawn. The Uber arrives And soon you are gone Into the world Of Now.
You arrive at work And greet the rest Then you all give it hell And hope for the best You need a vacation But you're not so blessed. But that's OK For now.
At the end of the day It is dinner and drinks Everyone talks But nobody thinks How their lives have formed Into these links And the chains are more comfortable Now.
As your prearranged Uber Takes you home You think of the cycle From which you can't roam. Your cycle of sameness Over time has grown. So who is the robot Now?
