Vagabond Poet

Vagabond Poet

A Poem by JE Falcon
"

Poems in sand.

"

The dark and billowing clouds

Drift gently from the sea

And the salty air and ocean sounds

Surround my lonely Cypress tree.

It is a song to the senses

And a dance in the sky

But the song, it has no words

So I hum this Lullaby.

I hear the sound of Gulls

And watch the thunderous waves

Move the sand in abstract patterns

Resembling muted graves.

Then the sandpiper is on the hunt

But the sand-crab, she is gone,

She slipped beneath the sand

To find a life that lingers on.

But I do not see the vagabond poet

That spoke of life and things unknown

The one who wrote his poems in sand

Hoping one would turn to stone.

Oh, I like this a lot. the sand crab, the hermit crab, digging in to be a loner, to be different, to make a difference as the poet does...hoping no tide can take away the meaning to his or her poems...
the troll turns to stone in a bad way, but the poem turns to stone to remain....

Beautiful poetry you have crafted here Falcon in five stanzas. I have a special love for poetry which is nature related. This is a very visual write and your fifth stanza ended strongly. Nicely composed work.

Kind words come from an understanding heart, thanks, Chris.
beautiful JE .. absolutely beautiful ... i am in the moment of this poem instantly .. the sea calls to all .. even me who prefers the forest streams of mountains... the sea is ever haunting and magnificent ... the work you do with sand is brilliant says i ... simply brilliant .. "She slipped beneath the sand ... to find a life that lingers on" ... especially hit me .. title hooked me good and making a bookend of it in closing verse works .. says i! thanks for sharing ... pic is stunning also .. full of dreams and enchantment :)
