Spring's Fever

Spring's Fever

A Poem by JE Falcon
"

A poem of a spring get-away.

"

The sunset glows

And I wiggle my toes

In the clover of this meadow.

This spring has dawned

On this growing lawn

Beneath my favorite willow.

The city’s fine

In wintertime,

But we long for rolling hills.

An open plain

Kissed by rain

And the smell of furrowed fields.

So … we slip away

For a holiday,

Me, myself, and soul,

To a country space,

A springtime place,

Just to watch the flowers grow.

I like it.
It has a ballad like feel to it. A quickening of the blood which spring actually brings. And then, as warm weather arrives, slows down with "... watch the flowers grow."

so much color and texture in this poem; in addition I like they rhyme you chose; it fits perfectly; Yes springtime is when you should "wiggle your toes in the clover"... I can feel it myself and oh it's so soft...
Lovely job...
Best, B
