Still - The ShineA Poem by JE FalconThis poem was written by my mother and is one of the few that survived many years of moving from one place to another. Just thought I'd make a place for it in history. (Thanks Mom, and I love you.)Someone asked me who God was And where, and how, and why. I gently folded me in thought And felt the stillness of the sky. Then I walked the shore at sunset, Near the waves and power's roar I let the thunder deep in me And still I longed for more.
At dusk, I found me on a hill I noted moon and stars. Such a wonder is the heavens, Those twinkling lights, afar. I knelt upon a grassy knoll, Reached out my arms so wide To understand a little more. Why do they question, "Why?"
Who and where, and why God is? Why grudge a slower walk? For I've noticed that it shattered, not, Determined souls of mind.
Deep in love's eyes, still, the shine!
