Asked & Answered~277A Story by JD MajorStepping up ...in 12 linesDC "You're pulling 80, Senator Putnam," Network reporter, Holly Hill, says, buttonholing her prey on the top steps of the Capitol Building. "Will you be seeking reelection in the fall?" ~ "It's pushing, Buttercup, not pulling. That aside, yes I definitely plan on serving my donors ... uh, constituents for another 6 years." ~ "Pulling is correct when one is older than the number spoken, sir, and pushing when younger. That aside, you'll be pushing 90 when your next term ends. Are you confident you'll still have what it takes?" ~ "As long as I can still sprint these steps, lickety-split, Sweetheart, I'll keep givin' the other side hell!" ~ "You've been a half hour climbing these steps, Senator." ~ "Conserving my energy, Honey, to kill Senator Drummond's Widow's and Orphan's Relief Bill." ~ "Kill is correct before a vote, Senator, not after. Senator Drummond's bill passed 50-49 when you were halfway up." _________________
