Sunday regrets ...in 12 lines

"
Two Gals over Wine

"What's your favorite day of the week, Anita?"
~
"Sundays, Donna. Sleep-ins, leisurely breakfasts, perusing the newspaper,
picnics, antiquing, browsing thrift shops."
~
"When was the last time you perused a newspaper? Picnicked?"
~
" ...Clinton was president."
~
"Sounds to me like you described a scene from a movie."
~
"Yeah, I've always longed one of those Sundays."
~
"What are your typical Sundays like?"
~
"Dragging my butt outa bed, finishing up Saturday errands,
 binge watching movies ...to forget"
"To forget what?"
~
"Monday."

Sometimes I wonder where the movies get their ideas of Sundays, or weekends in general. Those people always seem to make much better use of their time off than I usually seem capable of. There is never enough to forget Monday though, no matter what you're doing. Death and taxes may be absolutes in life, but maybe Monday should petition to be added to that list.
