A Poem by JD Major
"

Ageless deception ...in 12 lines

"
"You're an eloquent poet, Aunt Eth,
Why are your lines so reflective of death?"
~
"And you're a talented novelist, Beth,
Why does Pollyanna fill your every breath?"
~
"I'm young and death is an eternity away."
~
"Ah, yes, timeless self-deception, eh?"
~
"Please just say what you mean to say!"
~
"For you, time-ahead is endless,
and time-spent makes barely a dent."
~
"Beats heck, Aunty, outa your lament,
about where oh where it all went!"

I am not young and death is much closer than I want it to be...
So I definitely believe in saying what I mean before it is too late...
and last words....are etched onto a gravestone.
