Chapter 6: Love is a Devil: Part 3

Von raised his hand

As Lou swung the scalpel

Down over his face;

Everything in the lab

Began floating in the air

 

The desks, beakers,

The computers, even

Von and the others, floated up

Into the air as if

Gravity had disappeared

 

Von quickly punched

Lou in the jaw twice, then

Smashed his knee into Lou’s nose

Before everything in the lab

Crashed back to the ground

 

Von yelled, his knee

Soar and weak; Lou lied on

The floor bleeding and knocked out

Von fell back, his breathing

A complicated force

 

The lab was trashed

Glass shattered and papers

Shredded; everyone’s blood

Staining the tiled floor

All for a damn fossil…

 

“Did you do that?”

Yasmine finally broke

The silence, staring at Von

“I think so,” he said, “I

Don’t know how, but I felt it.”

 

“So,” Naye began,

“What does it mean?” The lab

Fell silent, rough breathing

Filling the air and space

Between the exhausted teens

 

“Let’s get outta

Here,” Ayah suggested

Von chuckled, “I second that.”

Naye and Yasmine helped him up

Ayah held the door for them

 

Lou jumped up loud

Screeching as he grabbed Ayah

He squeezed his hands around

Her neck and yelled, “You

Belong to Easla, the glorious!”

 

Ayah panicked

Von swiftly punched Lou, Naye

Jumped on his back and

Yasmine struggled to rip

Him off of Ayah’s throat

 

Ayah blinked as

She slowly fell out of

Consciousness, then a bright

Green light flashed as the

Taste of salt flooded her mouth

 

She was in the

Ocean; Lou was splashing

As waves crashed and thrashed down

On the teens, Yasmine screamed

And Ayah reached out to grab her

 

Naye and Von swam

To Ayah and Yasmine

As Lou struggled to stay

Above the water,

Sinking and Drowning
