The teens stared in

Shock as Naye reappeared

From smoke to solid, Naye

Shivered as the man fell

Behind her to the floor

 

The man shouted,

“Give it back!!” He lunged,

Broken glass in his hands

Yasmine rolled away as

Ayah stomped on his hand

 

Von punched him, swift

The man screamed, his jaw cracking

Yasmine and Ayah helped

Von to the door as Naye

Dashed out of the room fast

 

“Elevators,”

Yasmine screamed; Naye pressed up

And the door beeped open

“Hurry,” she screamed. The guard

Disappeared; panic rising

 

The teens helped Von

Into the elevator

Pressing and praying the doors

Would close; the power flashed on

Then off, and Lou appeared

 

Naye screamed, as Lou

Reached into the metal

Box; “She wants it back,” Lou

Cried, his hand inching

Closer to Von’s throat

 

Yasmine screamed and

The metal doors slammed closed

On the man’s legs; he yelled

Von wrestled him to the floor

The elevator went up

 

Lou punched Von as

The elevator stopped

Reaching S-12; the man dragged

Von out of the box by

His leg; Von scratched and yelled

 

The doors slammed shut

Naye, Yasmine, and Ayah

Still inside; “We can’t leave

Him down there,” Yasmine cried.

Naye and Ayah nodded

 

Naye pressed the doors

Open and the teen girls

Peeked into the passageway

A trail of blood on the floor

They said a prayer and stepped out
