Chapter 5: To Crumbles: Part 2

It broke into

Tiny little wooden

Chips in front of the guard

“You can’t be down here,” he

Started, then breathed in and coughed

 

Ayah flinched as

Purple dust from the crumbled

Box floated into the air

And into the guard’s mouth

His wild cough turned to shakes

 

His head jolted

And the guard fell flat on

His back with the loudest

Crack Ayah had ever heard

She ran to him, blood spilling

  

His head gushing

Ayah checked his pulse, he

Was alive; she searched the lab

Collecting lab coats to

Put under his head

 

“Stay with me,” she

Cried, plugging his bleeding

Head; she grabbed his radio,

Pressing buttons and turning

Knobs “Can anyone hear me.”

 

Only static

Ayah squeezed the man’s hand

“I’ll go get some help,” she cried

And jumped to her feet,

Running down the passageway

Von looked down and

Spotted the tooth in the

Puddle of his blood; “There,”

He pointed; Judas grabbed

The tooth, gagging and squirming

 

Naye laughed, “So gross.”

Von glared at her and squealed

His knee was badly bleeding

“Can you walk?” Yasmine asked.

Von tried, screaming as he failed

 

“The first-aid kit

Is on the bottom shelf

Of that cabinet,” Von said.

Carlo rustled through it

“Got it,” he said, rushing to Von

 

Yasmine pointed

At Carlo and Judas

“Go to level nine and

Snag a wheelchair,” she said.

The teens glared at each other

 

“Now,” Yasmine screamed.

The boys quickly obeyed

“Help me clean and wrap this,”

Yasmine said to Naye; they

Gently helped Von clean his knee

 

Yasmine squeaked as

The power in the lab

Went out, “What the hell,” Naye

Screamed; Yasmine finished

Wrapping Von’s knee

  

Yasmine grind her

Teeth, “The elevators

Should still work,” she said.

“There;s a back up generator,”

Naye let out a sigh, “Good.”

 

Yasmine peered through

The window; a figure

In the dark jetted straight

Toward them; she panicked

Opened the door and swung
