Ayah chewed her nails

Her internal debate

Dragging her left and right

How could she convince them?

How could she prove him wrong?

 

So simple, how

He got under her skin

With his smug, dirt-bag voice

And pink polo shirt-a*s

She’d do it and bring proof

 

She slipped outside

Into the passageway

Locking her condo tight

Her aunt would never know

She’d be back before dawn

 

Sneaking below

Into the sub-levels

Would be hard enough, but

It was Founder’s week and

Everyone was on guard

 

She just needed

As a quick SnapChat to prove

That she wasn’t afraid

She could be rebellious

Ayah could be wild

 

Normally she

Ignored Jake when he talked

S**t, but Yasmine was there

And Ayah couldn’t let

His punk-a*s slide like that

 

She spent two years

Crushing on her gorgeous

Smile, thinking up ways

To talk to her"homework?

Music? Food?"Lacking nerve

 

She had it bad

As she sneaked down the stairs,

Heart ready to burst out,

She imagined Yasmine

Pursuing her favor

 

Calm, quick, and smooth

Ayah made it to the

Outside deck, not a bruise

“Easy breezy,” she thought,

Walking through the main gate

 

The sea was calm

As Ayah got into

The elevator"buzzed

Second guessing, just once,

Her plan to sneak below

 

Her aunt, Jan, was

Lead engineer; Ayah

Picked up some things from her

But once she got the snap

She’d leave creepy S-13 fast
