Von was out fast

When class ended, rushing

To find Judas�"focused

He almost tripped into

Carlo�"lost in his daze

 

Breathless, he cringed,

“My bad.” Carlo smiled

“Make it up to me.”�"smooth

Von’s jaw hung in the hall

“How about lunch,” he said.

 

Von sat shaking

The lunch hall packed with teens

Carlo laughed and said, “What?”

Von shook his head and said,

“What’s it like out there?”�"awe

 

“Spacious,” he joked.

Classes on sub-level 2

Von knew how cramped it seemed

“When in small spaces,” Von

Began, “You improvise.”

 

Carlo smiled

His dark brown eyes blazing

“What’d you have planned?” he asked.

Von paused; his back straightened

“I have some ideas.”

 

Carlo exhaled

“As the new guy, I think

You’re expected to make

My first day enduring.”

Von grinned and said, “Just wait.”

Naye was alone

Eating topside, trying

Not to jump into the

Cold ocean�"first days sucked!

She walked along the dock

 

The water hummed

As it crashed below Naye

“Don’t jump,” a teen with light,

Brown skin, joked from behind

He plopped down next to her

 

“You’re new,” he said.

“I’m Judas.” Naye smiled

“Naye.” “Cute name,” he replied.

Naye pushed her thick hair back

“Cute boy central,” she thought.

 

Naye was intrigued

“Your folks scientists too?”

Judas shook his head, “My

Dad works on a fishing

Ship. I help him part time.”

 

Naye took a breath

“How do you like it here?”

“It’s cool, I guess,” he said.

“Some people here are cool

And there are some fun things.”

 

They quickly clicked

Laughing at Naye’s jokes

Bonding over Migos

And sharing trap music

Judas was a haven

 

Judas smiled

“What you doing tonight?”

Naye grinned; she was ready

To give Carez a chance,

If Judas was involved
