Chapter 2: A Door into Darkness- Part 1

He eyed the clock

Von just could not sit still

He could barely listen

Sitting in class, shaking

Hoping to find Judas

 

He tapped his leg

As if commanding time

To speed up so he could

Tell Judas the good news

Then the door swung open

 

Two new students

Mr. Cruise waved them up

“Class, welcome Carlo Crow

And Naye Jones,” he exclaimed.

Von smiled"eye candy

 

Von calmed down

Carlo sat next to him

In Judas’ old seat

The new teen grinned and said,

“What kind of place is this?”

 

What a question

Yes, Von knew that his school

And even his home, were

Unique"living on an

Old oil-rig was odd

 

With ten levels

Above the ocean and

Fourteen levels below

Carez was a palace

Out on the deep blue sea

 

One hundred souls

Called Carez home, forty

Were teenagers who had

Grown up together as

Their parents researched

 

Living quaters

Were above the sea while,

The lowest eleven

Sub-levels were labs and

Restricted research rooms

 

Von did not know

How to explain it all

To someone so “normal”

So he said, “Paradise.”

Carlo grinned, “Intriguing.”

 

Von’s brown cheeks burned

Carlo’s brown eyes shimmered

As he sat back, grinning

Von almost forgot that

Carez was plagued by death

 

Rumors spreading

Like wildfire, spoke

Of a fishing crew out

On sea, murdered by one

Of their own crew"grisly

 

All that after

A discovery by

Von’s marine scientist

Parents"it was locked down

But Von had a way in
