Chapter 1: Waves & Ticks- Part 1A Chapter by DayDreamer1292The ocean howled As he climbed below deck “Don’t stop till you see bone.” That’s what the ‘tick’ told him Go in there; ruin them He sought to please The scratching in his head Commanding him to bathe In the blood of his crew He could fight it no more There were plenty Of other things he wished He could be doing, but Once the ‘tick’ got its hooks Deep inside, he was vexed The mirror laughed For three days it mocked him Calling him dumb and weak Confessing that he would Never be good enough Conrad marched down Into the lower deck Where his whole crew slumbered He squeezed the ax in his Calloused hands, craving blood Pacing, back-forth Struggling to convince ‘It’ to reconsider That there were other ways For it to find escape The ‘tick’ refused “Don’t you love me,” ‘It’ hissed. “Of course I do,” he cried, “But these are my good friends.” “You have me,” the tick charmed.
“And I love you.” Conrad’s eyes fluttered fast “I love you too,” he cried. “Then ruin them,” ‘It’ growled. Conrad crept to the bunks
Three rows of bunks Rough snoring from his crew His friends, unaware of The impending evil Cal turned in the first bunk Cal blinked his eyes Squinting in the darkness “Conny?” he said, wide eyed As the ax came down fast He had no chance to scream © 2017 DayDreamer1292Author's Note
