IntroductionA Chapter by Jay Cummings Okay, here's how we're going to start. Situation: The world is ending. There you have it. Yup, big balls of fire raining from the sky, people turning into man eating creepers, a giant wave washing away civilization as we know it! And you know what would make the apocalypse even better? A giant solar flare! You run for your life, and as you run, you think about everything you've done and what you have or have not accomplished. What if you came to the realization your life was an unhappy one? Now, I know this is supposed to be about things that make you happy but I'll get to that later. And, believe me, I hate to start off on a depressing note, but its necessary! However, we all will come to a day in our lives when we aren't exactly in a position to be making demands out of life. Let's face it and say it right now. Let's not beat around the bush of modern cushioning and give in to the "life altering" or "age lengthening" popular culture of commercialism we see everyday! But, hey, with this day's resources and scientific innovation those claims may all be true! But even if you live one-hundred years, two-hundred, or even a thousand years, one day, when you aren't even expecting it, the guy who has been there for you your whole life will tap you on the shoulder and point upstairs. 'Yup' you realize, 'it's time to die.' WHOA! HOLD IT! Did I just tell you that? Yeah... I did. Sorry if I sound insensitive but, we all are going to come to this truth! No matter what you believe in--God, Jesus, Jehovah, Buddha, Mohammad or even if you believe nothing--we can't avoid what is to come for us! But, don't you want to live your life to the extreme? To the full potential of awesome-ness that it can be? Don't you want to be happy knowing that everyday, you lived life like a rock star even if you have neither the talent or voice (Sorry, that might be a cruel reality for some of you! I'm sure the shower-head would agree, yes?)? What I'm writing this article for is to hopefully inspire everyone to be who they want to be everyday and try not to delve into a life of just material happiness. I want and feel that people should take to find the small pleasures in life to be inspiring. We as human beings need to open our minds and see the greater changes in life. We need to remove ourselves from always wanting to be in the center of attention and see that the small things paint a bigger picture. If you are reading this right now and you know in your heart and in your mind that you truly love seeing the beauty of life, then I advise you to stay with me as I share with you many examples of why we are so fortunate every day to be apart of such a great world.
