Inconspicuously Me

Inconspicuously Me

A Poem by Jennie C.
"

Just another nameless face in a crowd I suppose?

"

Its dark in here, I cannot see
only a world slowly consuming me.
Breach the obscurities,
and finally come clean,
Only to find myself somewhere inbetween.

I lay here fallen and disenchanted
Breaking the silence
pressing me close to your warmth
I'm only a breath from aberration
Moments away from disgrace.
Falling in pieces,
and I have no name.

This seems like an opening door into a room that is being built, piece by piece, while you explore what is happening around you. Some of the thoughts that flash by need to be ignored but others definilely should be looked at more closely and thoroughly enjoyed with abandon. I don't think this world of poetry will consume us but might just burn off the slag and leave the silver.

"I'm only a breath from aberration"

I like this sentence.

Seems like some of us are all walking along the top of a bridge railing with water below on one side and the pavement on the other. If we keep our balance, we can walk all the way across the creek below and arrive at the other side. Then we can do it all again.

I feel you on the despondency and love the rigid but effective structure.

The truth is, I've been writing since I could hold a crayon. I would scribble things out on paper and then urgently tell my mother the story. I continued through elementary school and then into the tr.. more..
