Blackjack

A Poem by JCatchen3

Five...Ten...Hit me!
Stay, split, double down...
Flip one up
Throw one down
The deck is stacked

Bet or fold
Its all up to you
When the cards are in your favor
What have you got to lose?

In the game of life,
know when to bet them
and know when to fold
When your chips are down
you hold back
afraid of mounting your attack

Flip one up
Throw one down
The deck is stacked

Are you up or are you down?
When the odds are against you,
can you fight to win?
Will you give into the house
or rise to the challenge?

She tells you you can't win
She loves you...your money...
She flips one up
Throws one down

By twenty-two its too late,
And its those seventeens you learn to hate.
Only when you get to twenty and one
can you walk away...get up...your done.

Whoa! I like this! So original and creative.

It's true, one really does hate those seventeens!
