Cowboy Up!

Cowboy Up!

A Poem by JC
"

For my friend The Rock and Roll Cowboy...

"

Cowboy Up,
Means you are down, but not out,
Means that bucking horse, still needs to be rode,
Means that you dust off your hat, set that brim low,

Cowboy Up,
Means you don't offer up excuses
Means you are there till your last breath
Means that living right is all you need to know

Cowboy Up,
Means your word is as good as a contract
Means a handshake is more than being polite
Means that being cowboy is as good as gold

JC this is absoutely wonderful. It shows a true spirit of survival, yet states the proper way to handle things, even if you are a cowboy.:-) If everybody would show this type of respect to each other the world would be an easier place in which to live. We need to recapture the standards you speak of: fall off- get back on,
don't offer excuses, live right, handshake is your word of honor not to be broken and you see all these characteristics in Dale. You are a true friend and speak volumes about this wild, but sincere Cowboy. You are a gifted writer. I enjoyed reading your work, will be back for more.

Oh wow I don't know what to say to this... you have the true meaning of cowboy up down to a science in this delightful piece and certainly how I try to always be. Thank you so much for this wonderful dedication.
