How Many?

How Many?

A Poem by JC

How many bodies do we lay at your door?

How many before you realize this is not your father's war?

How many flag sentries must stand guard at the stone?

How many fracture souls will come home?

How many nights on cold ground must they sleep?

How many yellow ribbons must we keep?

How many we say?

How many you say, pray?

How many?

I dont agree with the previous reviewer...this war does have purpose and has seen results. (Not to mention, it takes alot more than the President to start a war, he should not be used as a scapegoat.) But without getting into politics, I thought this was well written and the repetition was a fine touch, well done.

Amen my friend... this War we fight today is nothing more then about greed and power of our egotistical President... Raw and powerful question that need answers but will we ever get them.

this poem has a subtle complexity that is sweeping, the rhyme form is equally
as captivating, powerfully surrendered scope of thought jc, the meaning tears
at the readers thoughts, capturing what it is to grieve the actions of war, this
is a depthfully charged, heartfelt, emotional, poetical work of insight, wisdom,
you have captured the feeling with specific intent, endearing, how the essence
of your passionate words speak to the masses, beautifully done, touching! mike

Too damn many. The amount is irrelevant to those in charge. :(
