Submitting to a Liar

Submitting to a Liar

A Poem by JCP
"

The third of the trio of poems I found in an old drawer I was cleaning out. These are almost 6 years old now, and left them as is, though i wanted to change a few things retyping them. Hope you enjoy!

"
I lost the bet; now it's began.
So I lied to myself, I did it again.
'Swore I wouldn't, but I'm a w***e.
Didn't think twice; I ran right out to the store.
-
You have my type? Who cares anyway?
Regardless of the price, I'm willing to pay.
Snatching you up, drawing you near.
Roll you through my fingers so gently, my dear.
-
Should I do it? Of course I will.
I'm feeling quite parched and I'm drinking my fill.
Lets get it on, no time to waste.
Oh how I've longed for just a sweet little taste.
-
I light you up with a fiery kiss,
Inhale your excess with complete ignorance.
Sucking you down as i write this
A perfect hypocrite in hypocrite's bliss.

Ah that brown demon tobacco, once it has its claws in you, it never really lets go, eh? I'm in the same boat, having quit and restarted many, many times. Good luck with your endeavor to get that demon behind you! I'm not usually a fan of rhymed poems but this was and absolute treat to read! Thanks for sharing and keep that ink flowing freely!!
