WindchimesA Poem by J. C. KochI was lost, but I found myself in my second favorite sound on earth, the sound of windchimes.
I step into the night air Attempting to clear my head And somewhere, in the distance I hear the windchimes
I take to the empty roads Fleeing from my thoughts And somewhere, in the distance I hear the windchimes
In the woods I long to vanish To be swallowed by the darkness And somewhere, in the distance I hear the windchimes
And then the walls break down And my thoughts flow out They drift away Like the like the sweet notes Caught in the icy night's wind
All of the sudden, my head is silent And for the first time, I can actually hear I hear the trees begin to speak The wind begin to sing, And the night begin to whisper And I can still hear the windchimes
They bring my thoughts back Calmly, queitly, sweetly Where once was chaos, Now is symphonic sound And I can still hear the windchimes
I breath in the night And the night breathes in me And somewhere, in the distance I can still hear the windchimes
I close my eyes and face my thoughts Staring down my demons And somewhere, in the distance I can still hear the windchimes
I step out of the night My head full of inspiration And somewhere, in the distance I can still hear the windchimes © 2011 J. C. Koch |
