Call Me a Snake

Call Me a Snake

A Poem by J. C. Koch
"

Some things are better off hated.

"

Call me a snake,

Despicable creature

Belly in the dirt

Preying on the weak

Call me a snake,

Wretched and poisonous

Good for nothing

but my venom

Call me a snake,

A heathen foe

Who swallows his prey

Live and struggling

Call me a snake,

Hate me before its too late

Hate me before my eyes

Begin to hypnotize

Call me a snake,

Drive me out

Scorn me now

Before you get hurt

I write when I can, not because I want to, because I need to. I was introduced to poetry in 3rd grade, and I've been in love with it ever since. My dream is to get published, I'm working on that as yo.. more..
