Evanescent

Evanescent

A Poem by J. C. Koch
"

The idea formed while reading Mary's new poem, thanks chica

"
Before I can even think of you
For forever you are gone
On into oblivion you pass
Only so many left until dawn

With each tick

And like all of your kin
For you, nobody cries

Because who cares
About one lousy second
When its gone so quickly
and the future does beckon

But faster then you can fathom
The seconds that you waste
Can become a life time
Wasted in ignorant haste

So no matter how quickly
No matter how evanescent it is
A man should live every second
Like it is the last one that's his
