Through the Glass

Through the Glass

A Poem by J. C. Koch

I.
The mist was all around
The world dark and foggy
Nothing but me all alone.
Not until I met you
Did any murk lift away
Clearing a path to your arms

II.
I awoke in my home bed
In the dark again
The illusion of your heat about me
The phantom of your soft lips
Still lingering on my own

III.
But then when I see you
The very next dawning day
There is a wall of glass
Letting me see you
but never closer
could I draw

I write when I can, not because I want to, because I need to. I was introduced to poetry in 3rd grade, and I've been in love with it ever since. My dream is to get published, I'm working on that as yo.. more..
