Sparks

Sparks

A Poem by J. C. Koch

In only a moment, it happened.
One insignificant event
Just a small spark
Can start a fire

A fire that burns away doubts
Burns away illusions
Burns away lies
Leaving ashes

Here and gone in an instant
A sparks life is short
Bright then gone
But still

The fire a spark can start
Burn down the world
Leaving nothing
A blank slate
To start anew.

I write when I can, not because I want to, because I need to. I was introduced to poetry in 3rd grade, and I've been in love with it ever since. My dream is to get published, I'm working on that as yo.. more..
