A Chapter by JC Fox

Lee cursed and grumbled how dare Tripp act like a damn jealous boyfriend; he has been weird ever since the bust. He didn’t even bother to tell her that things went downhill and that they were in trouble. She sighed and the dog nudged her hand with his nose she pat him on the head and sighed again.

“I don’t know boy it never used to be this way he was actually predictable now I can’t be sure which Tripp I’m going to get the a*****e I was attracted to but really wanted to shoot or the sweet guy with the over protectiveness and I want to smother him with a pillow.” She walked along the beach and saw someone sitting down by the water’s edge, she stiffened and then cursed herself for not bringing her gun with her, hopefully the dog would protect her and if not well then she was s**t out of luck and she’ll have to handle it on her own. She made her way closer to the figure and relaxed to see Brandon throwing pebbles into the lake. The dog ran towards his master and she looked longingly back up the beach and squared her shoulders, well it was now or never and she would show Tripp.

“Hey Brandon I thought you would have been in bed or something?” she sat down on the sand beside him and stared out at the water, this would be nice if she didn’t have to worry about a homicidal maniac on the loose. Brandon smiled and she felt herself start to blush and grow tingly.

“I just needed to think and besides you took my dog what was I to do go home alone?” he was very handsome and everything Lee liked in a man and the main thing was he wasn’t a lying overprotective a*****e! She leaned in against Brandon and inhaled deeply his scent filling her pores and she sighed in his ear. He put an arm around her and she pressed herself against him. She looked into his smoldering eyes and felt her pulse start to race and she gulped, he reached over and traced her face and she pulled away slightly and laughed.

“Sorry it must be the air and everything I didn’t mean to lead you on, ok maybe I did a little bit. I actually have a really big favor to ask you though,” Lee stood up and started pacing to try and calm her hormones and her nerves, the sounds of Toronto could be heard over the water and frogs. It was like two different worlds mashed into one big piece of art called life. She inhaled deeply and smelled ozone and rain, there was also the smell of Tripp on her clothes and she cursed that.

“Sure what do you need neighbor?” she didn’t realize that Brandon was talking to her and she smiled, maybe she could put the moves on him it wouldn’t be so hard he was very nice on the eyes.

“I was wondering if I could stay at your place tonight? I’m leaving tomorrow for some family issues but my friend and I had an argument and I just can’t be in the same house as him right now.” She looked up and leaned into Brandon, it wasn’t so bad maybe she’ll have fun her last night in Canada. She ran a finger along his jaw line and felt herself responding to his body being close to hers, who gave a damn about some homicidal maniac and Tripp tonight she was going to have fun. He wrapped his arms around her and brushed his lips against her neck, the wind blew around them as if urging them on, she turned around and kissed him, he returned hers with urgency probing her mouth with his tongue.

“Isabel I thought you would never ask, you can spend the night at my place, you can stay as long as you want.” He picked her up and she wrapped her legs around his back as they kissed again, she could feel energy radiating off his body and spilling into hers. The dog whimpered and she looked down at him; she pulled herself off Brandon and looked away a little ashamed with her actions.

“Ok then let’s go back to your place.” They walked back up the beach and disappeared into the night all thoughts of death and killers erased from her memory, Brandon was a drug and she needed a fix. Nothing will stop her from getting her fix either not Tripp, not Vivian, not even the f*****g psycho stalking them.

Tracy and Sumyi stood talking quietly in the library, things were starting to look up for her and she was quite happy with that. Honestly now if she can only get that b***h who got her son killed she’ll be happy, forget about Tripp he was no issue, if she wanted him taken out she can have it done at a later date but she wanted the girl.

“So we know they are in Toronto, when do you want to make a move?” Sumyi was examining her nails in the dim light, the smell of charred wood still clung to them, the air was chilled in the library but Tracy didn’t mind, it was just like her heart, cold and dead.

“Well if I can get a hold of that useless boy then I will know what the status is, we had to take out Vivian first, there are still the tech geeks to try and find. Why haven’t your people found them yet Sumyi?” Tracy slammed a fist down on the desk and the other woman shifted uncomfortably, she knew her sister had a temper but she really didn’t like being on the receiving end of it.

“I have my best working on it Tracy, these people have probably went underground because Biesel told them. There is nothing I can do until we locate them. Until then I was assured that neither one knew too much about the where abouts of Lena and Tripp.” She started chewing at her nail and then cursed, she hated being so tense and it was because of her sister being a first class b***h. Sumyi stood up and poured herself some brandy it would calm her nerves and hopefully sedate her enough so that she can deal with her sister. The library still looked the same from when they were children, they used to run around and have fun that was when the family was still together and they weren’t so heavy into the illegal activities and things just kind of went downhill from there.

“Do you realize that it is nearly Christmas?” Sumyi savored the bold taste of the brandy and let it slide over her tongue and down her throat, Tracy stopped pacing and stared at the other woman, she shrugged and offered a glass to her. “What can I get you for Christmas sissy?” Tracy walked over and took the glass; she stared into it and then threw it at the giant fireplace.

“Lena’s head in a nicely wrapped package!” she stormed out of the library and slammed the door. Sumyi sipped her brandy and chuckled to herself, she went over to the briefcase and snapped it open, inside was the papers she managed to steal from Biesel when he wasn’t hovering around. She rifled through them and smirked some more, two pictures fell out, one of two babies being held by a smiling woman and the other of two younger boys playing in the mud. She tucked the photos back into the file, she would share these with Tracy later right now she wanted to bask in the glory that she knew more about Tripp’s life than he knew. She poured another glass of brandy and then smiled some more, but this little secret needed to sit and ripen a bit more. When the time was right then she would drop the bombshell.

Vincent could not believe his good luck he wouldn’t have to do much to get Lee to be his after all. Now he just needed to decide whether he wanted to keep her around or just out right kill her. He watched her settle herself on the couch and decided that he might just play with her a bit, there was no harm in keeping her around for awhile, what Tracy didn’t know won’t hurt the uptight b***h. Now how to keep her from flying away later today, that was the ultimate question. Maybe he would have to pull some strings with airport security get them to be detained for a few days. His phone started ringing and he cursed, Tracy’s number came up on the screen and Lee was looking at him he smiled and shrugged.

“Sorry love I need to take this it’s my mother she worries when I don’t pick up the phone.” He walked outside and made sure he was out of earshot of Lee he cursed again and then flipped the phone open. “What the hell do you want?”

“Don’t you dare speak to me like that!” Tracy was in a foul mood and he really didn’t feel like dealing with one of her temper tantrums, he sighed and switched on the charm.

“Ok darling what can I do for you? I’m sorry I’m a little frustrated.” He rolled his eyes and watched to make sure his new plaything didn’t wander outside.

“Your charm won’t work on me, did you take care of Brecken?”

“Of course I did she is kissing the sky as we speak, honestly is that the only reason why you called?” he wanted to get back inside he was going to slip Lee some ecstasy and then have a little fun with her while she was rolling.

“No I wanted to know the status of Lena Caine and Gerald Taylor.” He rolled his eyes again and flipped the phone off he was really getting tired of the old woman and her demanding ways. Maybe he won’t kill them after all but there was the always the money.

“Well for your information I was going to seal the deal with our dear sweet Lena Caine before you so rudely interrupted me. As for Taylor he’s passed out at their house, I can easily take him out when I’m done with her.” He grew antsy and stared into the darkness he thought he saw movement but he shrugged it off. It was just his paranoid imagination playing tricks on him and he was actually quite exhausted from his activities earlier. The wind played with his hair and he cursed yet again at not grabbing a jacket he really hated the damn Canadian weather it was chilly and then it was warm then chilly.

“That is excellent to hear but I don’t want you to kill her right away I want you to bring her to me, oh you may do whatever you wish with her but leave her alive and bring her to me. I have something to say to that little b***h.” He winced as he heard the click of the phone being cut off on the other end and he stared at the phone.

“Well someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.” He looked back towards the house and couldn’t shake the feeling that he was being watched. He looked behind him again and shrugged it was just shadows he kept telling himself nothing more but the shadows and maybe the ghosts of the past. He walked back into the house and put on his panty melting smile it worked for the other girls why not this one, he would have fun with her but he wasn’t just going to hand her over to VanBastian right away, he had big plans for Lena Caine.

“Everything ok?” she was stretched out on the couch in a t-shirt and a pair of boxer shorts the dog was sprawled on her lap and she was scratching its ears, he could smell her perfume lingering in the air and felt himself start to grow hard. She looked at him and cocked an eyebrow at him.

“ Yes mom just wanted to know how Canada was.” He cleared his throat and went to the kitchen, “I’m a little thirsty would you like a drink? I have water, soda, wine, and I think I have beer.” He tried calming his breathing and centering himself he would not lose it, not yet he let the cool air of the fridge blow in his face.

“I’ll have some wine thank you very much.” She came up behind him and peered over his shoulder he inhaled her perfume again and could feel himself losing control.

“I think you should go back in the living room and I’ll bring the wine in, I am afraid that I really can’t be a great host if I’m having lascivious thoughts about my house guest.” He licked his lips and tried swallowing his mouth felt like sandpaper, she chuckled and it was deep and throaty, tinged with lust.

“It’s ok I had plans on not being a good house guest, well,” she stopped and picked some invisible lint off her shirt and he couldn’t stop staring at her hardened n*****s. “Well I’m good but I didn’t plan on behaving myself.” She moved in and pressed her body against his and he grabbed her and pushed her up against the refrigerator door.

“Well that is all the invitation I need.” He probed her mouth with is tongue and pressed himself into her body and she moaned, yes he was going to have fun with her screw VanBastian, he wasn’t going to let Lena Caine go until she was completely his. He looked out the window and thought he saw Tripp staring in the window at him; he smiled and nodded his head as he brought Lena Caine to the brink of ecstasy
