Repose

A Poem by J.A
"

Wrote this in 2012. I still feel the same.

"

A little silence doesn't hurt.  As loud as I can be, Sometimes I put the world on mute, and listen to tranquility.

I find solace in the movement of the ocean waves. It's like the water whispers secrets only I could know, which I'll be taking to the grave.

I play a little game, where I forget about this maze called life. Where I am stranded in my very own Wonderland, Neverland, Narnia, or Oz. Trying to get home. Meeting all these characters, to help me find my way and in some case, take away the load. Building up relationships down that yellow road. Then we'd fly above the ships. Take down pirates, dragons, witches that comes our way. And in every happy ending, there is no place like home. Except you wake up, and realize it was happier in Neverland where you were not alone.

In this maze, you hear the voices left and right. You feel the stresses of your life:

laughing. work. Noise.

papers. talking. yelling. school. NOISE.

bosses. friends. drinking. crying. toasting. gossip. NOISE.

enemies. parents. lovers. arguing. games. television. ipads. music. NOISE.

  ::Mute::

A little silence doesn't hurt.

…and then I write…

This is my tornado. As I fly to the second star on the right and straight on to the wardrobe doors.

This is my Oz. What's yours?
