Sleep paralysis

Sleep paralysis

A Poem by J.A

Rigid hands.

This

inability

to move

To move

To move,

To change

Positions.

Strange to feel

Your                       frozen                                   feet.

This                        slow                                       defeat.

Has                         broken                                 you

                                No control.

Cause nothing pieces you back whole.

It’s as if you felt

a whisper from

The lips of

Death herself

She delivers

One last sigh against your ear.

So you can hear

slow the

ticking... tic         king.. tiiii   cki      ng

of the clock.

And you shiver

But the blanket didn’t cover you enough..

Eyes wide open

                All you see:

 A shadow lurking.

It’s a memory of yesterday.

She mocks you

Oh’ mocks you.

So F**k You.

And I love You.

You try to move

But         rigid       hands

and

frozen   feet

won’t let you.

And all that you can do wait..

Until the moment passes…

When                    the eyes                                              can see            again.

The hands                                      can feel another’s.

The feet                          stand on its own.

And the heart can move again.
