An exploration of some of the motives behind the madness

Faith is not a truth. The dictionary describes faith as: complete acceptance of a truth which cannot be demonstrated or proven. In absolute terms, faith is a lie; a lie that many rely upon to ensure enjoyment during their existence here on the planet earth. Faith is a cancer of the mind which blinds us from the truth. Faith cripples the mind by narrowing its point of view. Once a person imbibes faith they begin to obscure their mind and their reality until they become totally overwhelmed. Ultimately giving them a false sense of identity, and leaving them with no bearing on reality.

At this point you are probably asking yourself one of two important questions A) What is the truth? and B) Why am I reading this? Both of which will be answered in this amazing essay.

First I will address question A)What is the truth? The truth is: We do not know where we came from or where we are going. This truth is mankind's birthright so to speak, and a crumby one at that. It goes hand and hand with his not-so-incredible intellect (if man where so damn smart, he would have figured out the answer by now). This truth is enough to drive the average human into madness, and it does to many. This is where faith becomes a necessary tool in preventing the thought of such a mind-blowing truth.

Another mind-blowing truth is that there are millions of humans running around struggling for power and survival with an altered sense of reality. This is a script for disaster and the world is the stage. Historically this may seem like a time of relatively peaceful ideals of faith. Compared to the Spanish inquisition or the European and American witch hunts, a couple of children running around with bombs strapped to their chest doesn't really stack up. People dismiss these thoughts commonly through their faith by saying, "that's not what I believe in" or "my god would never stand for that sort of thing". To think so narrowly due to your faith in an unproven truth, leads the subject to miss the point entirely. The fact that these people have dedicated their life to something that cannot be demonstrated or proven, and that they have selected a certain doctrine of unproven faith over another is absolutely ludicrous. Not to mention, that they are letting it take control over their life to the point at which it governs their actions.

The next paragraph will give a good example of why a human would do such a ludicrous thing, but by no means will it excuse it.

Now to address question B) Why am I reading this? You are reading this because like other humans you are a creature of curiosity. Humans are curious, but they are also lazy. This is a very bad combination, because everyone is looking for something very important, but most are willing to take the easy way out to find it, or rather believe that they have found it. I am not proposing that all forms of faith are false, only that most, if not all of them, must be. Too many of them clash with one another and it seems naive to believe in one form of faith over any another. The educated approach to this situation would be to regard all faith as what it is; a way of altering ones mindset into a more tolerable and hopeful sense of reality, an escape if you will.

Humans must learn to embrace the truth for what it is, without fear. To except the truth and use it to discover more truths, to open the mind and subject it to reality and actuality, to engage life and let whatever will be, be. To do this, many will have to stop using faith as a crutch.

Thank you for reading this amazing article. I want you to know that I take full responsibility for any stupidity you may have gained by reading it, and I forgive you of you ignorance. However if this article has helped you to gain any insight or wisdom, know that you have also gained my respect as well, but not my sympathy.

I enjoyed reading this, as an atheist I have never had much time for faith but forgive me for I must argue on behalf of the faithful. It is a human necessity for some and yes if none of us had faith we'd be more aware of the truth and wouldn't be dragged down by the cruelty and wrath of our God but would we be better off without faith? I don't think so, Wouldn't a lot more people be depressed and have nothing to live for? Even if their faith is inherently wrong, I personally would rather have them believe that then be depressed. And what if, the truth is actually pretty darn rubbish, we all like to dream and that is what faith is, a dream. An escape from reality because sometimes reality is too much.

P.S. Using the sign-off 'Satan' counteracts your entire arguement...
