The Prison of Words Unspoken

The Prison of Words Unspoken

A Poem by Jamie

Thoughts running aimlessly,

Feelings only spoken by an inaudible voice,

Screaming inside my head,

Gaze into my eyes and see my tormented soul,

Tortured by the words I cannot speak,

Heart twisted in thousands of ways,

Going insane from the utter desire,

A million butterflies dancing in the pit of my stomach,

Fear of rejection and desertion are holding my tongue,

Trembling spirit when you're near,

Critical words are lost,

Dead silence between us,

Feeling your lips lightly touch my hand,

Scars disappearing with every hug and gentle kiss,

Never wanting to leave your side,

Wanting to be forever in your arms,

Gazing into your smiling eyes,

Two hearts beating as one,

The words are beginning to form,

Do I let them fall on your ears?
