Fire of Determination

Fire of Determination

A Poem by J.
"

A subtle description of the inner self that is me.

"
Born among the flames within
Of what some would call sin
Eternal depths of sorrows
Screams of many born in this way

Ears filled with lies
Up to us to realize
Whether we push onward
In strength, whatever we have left

To claw our self above with a cause
From the trenches without pause
Bound and determined
To free self from the vermin

I am done and spent
My will has been tried but not bent
A fragment of memories
Here and there many flashes

Of a war, a past not long ago with no fear
What kind of time keeps me here?
Tied by wooden reeds
On strings that clink

I fight against them strong willed
A struggle to remain filled
With the fire that burns within
That is and always will be...ME!
